It is useful to identify what is stopping you from writing and stopping you from publishing

These are points which people made at the LILAC seminar on 26 March 2007

• Lack of recognition that writing part of your job
• No direct encouragement
• Time factor – organisational priorities hinder
• Not a community of practice
• Lack of confidence
• Hard to work out what it is you’re trying to do
• Fear of criticism
• Other competing interests
• Fear of treading on people’s toes in the organisation
• Finding somewhere to do the writing
• Finding mental space to think about it
• Not knowing who the audience is
